Second EXPO 2017 International Participants Meeting
The Second EXPO 2017 International Participants Meeting was held on February 24-25, 2016 in Astana. The Meeting was attended by 295 delegates from 104 countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan D. Nazarbayeva made a welcome address on behalf of the Government of Kazakhstan. In addition, presentations were made by the Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions V. Loscertales, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, EXPO 2017 Commissioner R. Zhoshybayev and Chairman of the Astana EXPO 2017 National Company A. Yessimov.
Architecture, construction of EXPO 2017, operations, Exhibition content as well as cultural and entertainment program were presented in details to the participants of the Meeting. Moreover, delegates discussed terms of international and corporate participation, program of the Future Energy Forum to be held within the Exhibition and other issues. All delegates were given Participation Guides and Participant budget system to prepare for participation in EXPO 2017.
Within the meeting, 14 participation agreements (Russia, China, Monaco, Hungary, Vietnam, Pakistan, Comoros, Fiji, Tonga, Benin, Vanuatu, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Malaysia) and a Memorandum of cooperation with the Russian Formika Grouphave been signed.
Following the results of the meeting and according to comments of delegates, an increase is expected in number of confirmations, commissioners of national sections as well as participation agreements.
