Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Georgia were established on July 23, 1992.
Since 31th of May 2018 Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov is Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Georgia.
Since 2017 Zurab Abashidze is Ambassador of Georgia in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstani-Georgian relations are developing in accordance with the Treaty on Principles of Relations between Kazakhstan and Georgia as of July 1, 1993.
On 12-13th of November 2014 was held official visit of the Georgian Prime Minister Mr. I.Garibashvili in Astana.
An effective mechanism for the expansion of bilateral trade and economic relations and prioritizin is an intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation, the 8th meeting of which was held on June 10, 2016 in Astana.
On 10th June 2016 in Astana was held 8th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation and political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreing Affairs of Kazakhstan and Georgia.
In June 2014 in Tbilisi was held Week of Kazakh cinema.
On 27-29th of May 2014 under the initiative of the Embassy of Georgia in Kazakhstan, and the Georgian Cultural Center as a part of celebration of Georgia's Independence Day (26 May) in the Central Concert Hall “Kazakhstan" (Astana) and the Palace of the Republic (Almaty) were carried out performances of State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble “Erisioni – Treasure of Georgian" at the official reception in the “Radisson SAS" hotel (Astana). Embassy organized the of Georgian Wine Festival, as well as a number of other events.
On 29th May 2015 in Tbilisi was held a photo exhibition “Unknown Kazakhstan", which is one of the most exciting projects of the last two years, supported by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation.
According to customs statistics, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Georgia in January-October 2016 amounted to $ 32.9 mio.,that is 37.9% less than in 2015 (US $ 53 mio.).
